Kyiv says three soldiers killed in eastern Ukraine in past 24 hours

Ukrainian army positions have come under 56 attacks in the past 24 hours, the army operation press center reports.

It said that the militia remained active in three strategic sectors: Luhansk, Debaltseve and Donetsk. "There have been 40 artillery and mortar attacks on our positions, the positions came under fire from light weapons five times, there was one tank engagement, and nine rocket launcher attacks by the militia," the press center wrote on Facebook on Monday morning.

Three Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in the past 24 hours, it said.

Donetsk airport remains a stumbling block, the press center said.

"Responding to enemy provocations, artillery delivered 15 strikes on designated targets," Kyiv said.
