SBU claims ready to update OSCE on situation in east Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has said it is ready to cooperate with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) mission and provide information on the situation in the country's east.

"An OSCE mission is in Ukraine. It is very important for us that the mission has already begun its work. As you know, on April 17 the deputy head of the mission has been sent to the eastern regions … The Ukrainian anti-terrorist center and Security Service are ready to cooperate with the mission's representatives and more importantly, provide them with the necessary information by allowing immediate access to all files and facilities," SBU spokeswoman Maryna Ostapenko said at a briefing on Tuesday.

International observers must be allowed to "personally control Russia's compliance with the statements it made in Geneva regarding the vacation of administrative buildings and surrendering of weapons by militants," she said.

The SBU has evidence of Russian special agencies' involvement in the events in eastern Ukraine, Ostapenko said.
