SCM denies reports Akhmetov met with Putin

President of the System Capital Management Group (SCM) Rinat Akhmetov has not met Russian President Vladimir Putin for several months, Director of International and Investor Relations Jock Mendoza-Wilson told the Kyiv Post publication.

Mendoza-Wilson said that Akhmetov has not contacted Putin for the past several months.

He added that the decision of Akhmetov to meet separatists earlier in Donetsk was his personal initiative to help resolve the tense situation in a peaceful way.

As reported, journalist Serhiy Leschenko claimed that the current events in Donetsk are the result of a secret meeting between Akhmetov and Putin.
