Maidan activist and famous Ukrainian doctor and public figure Olha Bohomolets has postponed submitting documents to the Central Election Committee (CEC) to register as a candidate for presidency because she lacks the money for the deposit.

Before entering the building of the CEC, Bohomolets said that at that moment she only had a part of the money for the deposit, which amounts to UAH 2.5 million.

"My friends are collecting the rest of the money and I hope that we'll be able to collect the necessary amount by the end of the day. I am grateful to everyone who has responded on the Internet," she said.

However, the CEC explained to her that the documents were to be filed in a single package and if there's no conformation of the transaction of monetary deposit her registration will be denied.

As reporter, a total of five candidates have filed documents to the CEC to be registered as candidates for presidency. For now, the CEC have registered only one of them – former First Deputy Prosecutor General Renat Kuzmin.

The deadline for registering as the presidential candidate is March 30.

Pre-term presidential elections in Ukraine have been scheduled for May 25.
