EU ready to help Ukraine in crisis settlement dialogue and with economic reforms - Ashton
The European Union is ready to support the process of dialogue in finding a way out of the political crisis in Ukraine and assist in the implementation of economic reforms, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton has said.
"We stand ready to support the process of dialogue, which is so important to putting an end to the situation there, and we stand ready [to help] with the reforms that need to be made, with economic support," she said in Brussels on Monday ahead of a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, which among others, will consider the Ukrainian question.
Ashton said that the EU is "in touch with many other countries and institutions on this issue."
