Ashton to arrive in Ukraine late next week - spokesperson
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton's upcoming visit to Ukraine will be made at the end of next week, her spokesperson, Maja Kocijancic, told Interfax-Ukraine in Brussels on Friday.
She said that the final date was not yet known.
The visit will be made the end of the week, she said. Ashton is expected to meet with the president, the opposition and civil society and the visit will be part of the EU's efforts to support the search for a political solution to the current crisis in Ukraine, she added.
Kocijancic did not give a direct answer to the question about the cancellation of the Ukraine-EU summit, which, as previously expected, could be held in February or March.
She said that the date for the next summit had not yet been determined.
