Ukraine's possible renunciation of Europe is suicide - Saakashvili
Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said he hoped that Ukraine had a future with the EU and that the country will be able to receive international support in this direction.
"Dialogue is always useful, but only if it is meaningful dialogue, not dialogue for the sake of dialogue. And I think that possibilities have not been exhausted in this regard," Saakashvili said in an interview with Hromadske TV channel on December 9.
Ukraine will receive international support, which should not be underestimated, because Europe has "huge economic levers," the former president said.
As to the situation in Kyiv, Saakashvili said: "This is not just a demonstration on the streets. The question is whether or not the country will have a future or be forced to renounce Europe. And this [renunciation] is suicide."
