Batrkivschyna collecting signatures for speedy consideration of Tymoshenko case at ECHR
The Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Union on Monday began a campaign to collect signatures for an address by Ukrainian citizens to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) concerning the speedy consideration of the case of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, one of the leaders of the Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Union, Oleksandr Turchynov, has said.
"The case of Yulia Volodymyrivna Tymoshenko is acquiring special significance. It concerns not just her personally, but also millions of citizens, including those who signed this address. Given this obvious fact, as well as the grave condition of Yulia Volodymyrivna, which was confirmed by German doctors from the Charite Clinic, and a probable threat to her life in prison under the control of her main opponent, we are asking the high court to consider the case of Yulia Tymoshenko as quickly as possible and make a lawful and fair decision," reads the address, which was handed out in Kyiv on Monday during a rally in support of Tymoshenko outside the building of Pechersky District Court.
