Lutsenko and Filipchuk released - Ukraine's Penitentiary Service
The decree of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych No. 197/2013 pardoning six convicts, including former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko and former Environmental Protection Minister Heorhiy Filipchuk, has been implemented. They have been released.
"The decree has been carried out in full. All convicts have been relieved of their sentences. The necessary calculations have been made, rights explained and all necessary assistance given," the press office of the Ukrainian State Penitentiary Service announced in the morning on April 7, 2013.
