Crimea's office in Moscow to be liquidated, according to Crimean government's decision
The Crimean Council of Ministers has decided to liquidate Crimea's office in Moscow due to its ineffectiveness in attracting Russian tourists to the peninsula.
Such a decision was taken at a meeting of the Crimean government on Tuesday.
"The office in Moscow has demonstrated its ineffectiveness. Moreover, we spend UAH 1.3 million per year to maintain it... Instead, we're planning to create this year over ten tourist offices [in different countries]. In particular, such an office will be created in Moscow, without the expenses of the budget of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea," Crimean Resorts and Tourism Minister Oleksandr Liyev said at a Crimean government meeting on Tuesday.
Crimean First Deputy Prime Minister, Pavlo Burlakov, who chaired the meeting of the Crimean government, in turn, said that Crimea's office in Moscow would be liquidated as part of the optimization of budget expenditures in Crimea and the use of free funds to implement social programs in the autonomy.
