Ukrainian and Portugese FMs discuss further steps to strengthen air defense and support of energy system
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha met with his Portuguese counterpart Paulo Rangel on the sidelines of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg.
“We discussed further steps to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense and military capabilities, as well as support for Ukraine’s energy system, which is under constant Russian attacks ahead of winter. We agreed to coordinate joint engagement within various EU instruments, first of all the SAFE initiative, and on EU sanctions policy,” Sybiha said on X.
The ministers also discussed Ukraine's path to EU accession and ways to advance Kyiv's interests among Portuguese-speaking countries.
“We both share the view that the security of Ukraine and Europe is indivisible, and that upholding international law is a matter for principle and joint interest. I expressed sincere gratitude for Portugal`s unwavering comprehensive support for Ukraine and our people,” Sybiha stressed.
