Sybiha: Ukraine to never recognize any territories stolen by Russia, to not agree on army limits
Ukraine will never recognize the occupation of Ukrainian territories by Russia, will not agree to any restrictions on the army and will not allow blocking the choice of alliances and unions, said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.
"We will never recognize any territories stolen by Russia, will not agree to any restrictions on our army or defense capabilities, will not allow anyone to block our choice of alliances and unions," he said at a press conference with his Lithuanian counterpart Kęstutis Budrys in Kyiv on Tuesday.
Sybiha stressed that the Ukrainian army should become stronger, and deterrence against Russia should be strengthened both now and after the war.
He also informed his Lithuanian counterpart about the results of the negotiations in Saudi Arabia and emphasized Ukraine's principled positions.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that Lithuania is one of Ukraine's closest allies. According to him, the total amount of Lithuanian aid amounted to more than EUR 1.5 billion, which is about 2% of GDP. Sybiha expressed gratitude to Lithuania for its unwavering support. The head of the Ukrainian diplomatic service also thanked Lithuania for its readiness for practical participation in the Coalition of the Willing, training Ukrainian soldiers, treating the wounded, repairing damaged equipment, as well as for assistance and leadership in the areas of reconstruction, support and restoration of the energy sector.
