Germany orders 54 RCH 155 howitzers for Ukraine – Pistorius
The German Government ordered 54 wheeled RCH 155 howitzers for Ukraine, Defense Minister of Germany Boris Pistorius has said Tuesday.
"The 155 [howitzer], which we have presented in Kassel yesterday, is indeed an engineering masterpiece. They are really very special. We have ordered 54 units for Ukraine. And I hope they will arrive as soon as possible because it is a really very effective and mobile weapons. It will probably help a lot in your fighting, which is not over yet," he said ahead of a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv.
According to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, Pistorius will also discuss with Zelenskyy close industrial cooperation between Germany and Ukraine, particularly "more joint ventures, more direct procurement from the Ukrainian defense industry."
