Ambassador Brink: Purpose of Blinken's visit to Kyiv is to emphasize U.S. support for Ukraine

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink welcomes the new visit of Secretary of State Antony Blinken to Kyiv, noting that the purpose of this visit is America's support for Ukraine.

"Excited to welcome Secretary Blinken back to Kyiv tomorrow to underscore U.S. support for Ukraine," she wrote on the social network X.

Blinken wrote on his page in X that he discussed with the head of the British Foreign Office the importance of bilateral relations between the two countries, support for Ukraine and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

"In my meeting with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, we discussed the importance of the U.S.-UK relationship as we stand united to resolve the critical issues of our time. We also discussed our commitment to supporting Ukraine and the need to reach a ceasefire in Gaza," he said.

As reported, Blinken and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy will visit Ukraine on Wednesday, September 11, U.S. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.
