Ukrtransgaz, Gas Storage Poland holding talks on creation of gas consortium
First Vice President of Ukrtransgaz Myroslav Khymko and Vice President Pawel Stanczak on November 17, 2017 held negotiations with representatives of Gas Storage Poland Sp at the Dashava gas storage facility. The negotiations concerned the creation of a Ukrainian-Polish gas consortium, a source in the government has told Interfax-Ukraine.
"The project could be effective if the Ukraine-Poland interconnector is built. It is outrageous that the negotiations are held without involving representatives of the government of Ukraine. Stanczak, who has not yet received admission to state secrets, visited the restricted access facility," the source said.
He said that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) was alarmed with the previous visit of Stanczak to the limited access facility.
As reported, Ukrtransgaz, fully owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates a system of trunk gas pipelines and 12 underground gas storage facilities in the country.
