Firtash, Akhmetov and O.Yanukovych are not owners of Zeonbud - company

Zeonbud LLC, the operator of the digital terrestrial television network, has said that the information about its owner, spread by the head of the parliamentary committee on freedom of expression and information, Mykola Tomenko, is untrue.

"Businessmen Oleksandr Yanukovych, Dmytro Firtash and Rinat Akhmetov are not the owners of Zeonbud," the company told Interfax-Ukraine.

In addition, SCM Group and Akhmetov also denied participating in Zeonbud.

The press service of Group DF also reported that neither Firtash nor Group DF have any relation to Zeonbud.

MAKO of Yanukovych has not commented on the statement by Tomenko.

Earlier mass media reported, with reference to Tomenko, that the owners of Zeonbud are the above mentioned businessmen.

"Experts say that the ownership structure is as follows: 33% is owned by Yanukovych's son Oleksandr, 33% by Firtash, and 33% by Rinat Akhmetov," he said.

Tomenko also stressed the urgent need to check the legality of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council's providing licenses for digital broadcasting to private company Zeonbud, noting the use of non-transparent schemes when preparing for Ukraine's transition from analog to digital broadcasting.
