EL AL starts sale of tickets on Kyiv-Tel-Aviv flights under new brand UP
Israel's national airline EL AL from Monday, December 9 started selling tickets on its Kyiv-Tel-Aviv flight as a part of the new UP brand, a general representative of the company in Ukraine Oleh Maksymov said at a meeting with reporters on Monday.
"From today we opened the sale of UP's tickets and launched the Web site. The main concept is that clients can select the services they need," he said.
Maksymov said that from March 30, 2014, seven flights a week will be performed under the UP brand on the Kyiv-Tel-Aviv route. From June 30, 2013 the company plans to bring the number of flights to 11 a week. The planes will depart from Terminal D of Boryspil International Airport.
The flights will be performed using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Two classes – economy and economy plus- and two types of tariffs - UP basic (includes only the basic cost from $99 for a one way ticket, all services are offered for additional fees) and UP Smart (the cost includes all additional services – registration, additional luggage, selection of seat). The airline expects that the planes will be 84% loaded.
Maksymov said that the declared cost of the flight will be in effect until late June, and in the future the prices could be increased.
Answering a question on the launch of flights of the airline from other Ukrainian cities, he said that the airline does not have such plans for 2014, although in 2015-2016, the flights to Tel-Aviv from Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Lviv and Donetsk could be launched.
As reported, from March 2014, Israel's national airline EL AL will launch the new UP brand, which will perform budget flights from Israel to five European destinations – Kyiv, Berlin, Budapest, Prague and Larnaca.
