Winter grain crops in Ukraine as of November 18 had sprouted on 7.3 million hectares, or 95% of the fields sowed with the crops, the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food has said.
According to its data, 91% of crops are in a good or satisfactory condition, while 9% are weak and thinned.
The ministry noted more successful agro-meteorological conditions than last year both in terms of moisture and heat quantity.
As reported, Ukraine for the 2014 harvest sowed winter crops on 7.728 million hectares, which is 95% of the planned areas.
Areas under winter rapeseeds for the 2014 harvest amounted to 882,000 hectares.
