Szijjártó announces opening of new crossing point on Hungary-Ukraine border this year
Minister for Foreign Affairs and Economy of Hungary Péter Szijjártó has assured his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiha that Budapest is ready to develop the infrastructure of border crossings.
"I also confirmed to the minister that Hungary is ready to develop the infrastructure of border crossings. It is good news that we will be able to open a new border crossing point this year. We are ready to carry out the works necessary to increase the capacity of the Beregsurány checkpoint. We are ready to build a new bridge across Tysa river," he said at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart on Monday.
Also, according to Szijjártó, Hungary is "ready to create a cross-border business development zone on the Hungarian-Ukrainian border."
As reported, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on January 29 that a new border crossing would be opened on the border between Hungary and Ukraine and that a new bridge across Tysa was planned to be built.
