Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow has announced his country's readiness to increase deliveries of products of the fuel and energy sector to Ukraine.

"Turkmenistan is ready to boost deliveries of products of the domestic fuel and energy sector to Ukraine," Berdimuhamedow said after talks with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Ashgabat on Thursday.

The Turkmen leader also reiterated the importance of further promoting cooperation in the energy sector.

Turkmenistan is also ready to implement joint projects in the fuel and energy sector, he said.

"[During the talks] great attention was paid to the prospects of cooperation in the transport sector. Presently, Turkmenistan is creating a far-reaching network of transport, transit and logistics infrastructure from east to west and from north to south together with its partners," Berdimuhamedow said.

In addition to this, Turkmenistan is interested in cooperating with Ukraine as a country with a potent port infrastructure, which will benefit transport cooperation from a geographical standpoint, he added.
