VETEK Group to switch all subsidiaries to Brokbusinessbank

The VETEK Group, a strategic investor in Brokbusinessbank (Kyiv) with a 40% stake, will switch the servicing of all its subsidiaries to the bank, the group said in a press release.

"The VETEK Group has decided to switch the servicing of all its subsidiaries to Brokbusinessbank to support the bank. In addition, the group is ready to borrow large funds from the domestic and foreign markets to ensure the further stable operation of the financial institution," reads the press release.

The press service said that difficulties some clients Brokbusinessbank faced are of a temporary character, and they are linked to the technical works on the reconfiguration of the bank's payment system and they are to be finished soon.

"We address all clients of Brokbusinessbank not to surrender provocations. The shareholders and the market regulation will not allow the situation to be out of control. From Monday all payments will be settled without delays," the press service said, citing Deputy Chairman of the supervisory board of the VETEK Group Borys Tymonkin.

As reported, Brokbusinessbank has decided to terminate cooperation with the Visa international payment system and continue cooperation with the MasterCard international payment system

Brokbusinessbank was founded in 1991. In July 2013, it was reported that VETEK Group started purchasing shares in Brokbusinessbank.

According to the bank, on January 1, 2014 Oleksandr Buriak owned 9.3961% of its shares, and Serhiy Buriak 9.3962%.

According to the National Bank of Ukraine, on October 1, 2013 Brokbusinessbank ranked 18th in terms of total assets (UAH 17.691 billion) among the 178 banks operating in Ukraine.

VETEK trades in liquefied and natural gases, oil products, goods for the oil and gas sector, and runs some 150 filling stations.

VETEK owns Odesa Oil Refinery, Kherson oil handling complex and UMH media group.

Its main shareholder, Serhiy Kurchenko, became the owner of the football club Metalist (Kharkiv) at the end of last year.
