Ukrainian tennis player, ranked 7th in the world, Elina Svitolina, has won at the BNP Paribas WTA Finals in Singapore.
Svitolina beat Sloane Stephens of the United States with a score of 3:6, 6:2, 6:2 in the final game on Sunday, October 28.
On her way to the final, Svitolina defeated eight strongest WTA players in the White Group. She also beat Dutch player Kiki Bertens in the semifinals on Saturday.
This is the first victory in her career in such a major tournament. Svitolina has not yet won Grand Slam tournaments. However, she already has 12 victories in various WTA tournaments.
