Ukraine sending 33 athletes to 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics
Some 33 Ukrainian athletes will compete in three sports at the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics.
"At the 'White Paralympics' held in PyeongChang from March 9 to March 18, among 48 countries participating will be competing for 80 medals in three types of sports. Ukrainian athletes will compete in cross-country skiing, biathlon and Alpine skiing," the ministry said, adding that gold medal winners would receive $125,000, silver medal winters - $80,000 and bronze medal winners - $55,000.
According to the press service of Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Viacheslav Kyrylenko, Ukrainian athletes have won 90 medals total throughout the history of the Paralympics, 20 of which were gold medals.
As earlier reported, the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics ended on February 26.
