Mykhailo Fomenko will remain the head coach of Ukraine's national football team and will train it for the European Championship 2016.
The executive committee of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) adopted this decision during the meeting on Friday, FFU President Andriy Pavelko said at a briefing.
On his part, Fomenko thanked the FFU executive committee for their trust, as well as for giving him carte blanche for forming the coaching team and other members of the staff.
"We will introduce the coaching staff later, as the final part of the Euro is somewhat different from other games," he said.
The manager wants the team to gather for the Euro 2016 training on May 19.
Pavelko also said that Ukraine's team will play two warm-up games: one with Cyprus in Odesa and the other one with Wales in Kyiv on March 28.
Fomenko was appointed the team's manager on December 26, 2012. His contract with the FFU expired on November 30, 2015.
Ukraine has qualified for the Euro 2016 finals, which will take place in France on June-July, 2016. Ukraine will play its first games in a group with Germany, Poland, and Northern Ireland.
