Dynamo Kyiv to face Belgium's Genk, Switzerland's Thun, Austria's Rapid in Europa League
Dynamo Kyiv has been drawn against Belgium's Genk, Austria's Rapid and Switzerland's Thun in Europa League Group G.
Thun, which was fifth in Switzerland last season, sensationally defeated Dynamo led by Leonid Buriak in the 2005/2006 season in the second qualifying round of the Champions League. Then, the Ukrainian club for the first time in nine years failed to win through the qualifying stage of the major European tournament.
The last time that had happened was in the 1996/1997 season when Rapid Vienna, last season's bronze medalists in Austria, also beat Dynamo in Champions League qualifying.
Belgium's Genk finished third in the Belgian championship last season.
