Ukraine needs more air defense assets to protect civilians, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, commenting on the consequences of a night attack by Russian UAVs on Ukrainian cities.
"We need more air defense from our partners. The Ukrainian air shield should be strengthened to add protection to our people from Russian terror. More air defense systems, more missiles for air defense – this is what saves life," Zelenskyy said in his Telegram channel on Saturday morning.
He said a search and rescue operation is ongoing in Odesa at the site where a UAV hit a residential building.
"The search and rescue operation continues continuously. All services are in place. People are being provided with all the necessary assistance," the president said.
