Ukrainian air defense destroys Kh-59 missile, 13 out of 19 Shahed UAVs – AFU Air Force
Ukrainian air defense destroyed the Kh-59 missile and 13 of the 19 Shahed drones that attacked Ukraine, the Ukrainian Air Force said on its Telegram channel on Wednesday morning.
"On the night of February 21, 2024, the invaders attacked with an S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile (Rostov region), a Kh-59 guided aircraft missile (Belgorod region), 4 Kh-22 cruise missiles (Rostov region) and 19 of Shahed type attack drones (Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russia)," the Air Force said in the statement.
It is noted that as a result of combat work, the X-59 guided aircraft missile was destroyed in Poltava region and 13 of 19 Shahed drones were destroyed within Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions. Some of the six unhit enemy UAVs did not reach their targets.
Anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare systems of the Ukrainian Defense Forces have been involved in repelling the air attack.
