Ukraine to create unique font for business documentation – Culture Ministry

Ukraine will create a unique font for business documentation, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy has announced.

"The task of creating a Ukrainian national font is still relevant. The goal is simple: We need to update the headset for government business documents, in particular orders, decrees, laws, etc. Now Times New Roman is coping with this, but we would like something of our own - more original and modern," the ministry's press service said, citing Acting Minister Rostyslav Karandeyev following a meeting with font designers.

According to a message, the participants of the meeting noted that in Ukraine there are at least four ready-made fonts developed by domestic designers that are suitable for use in documents.

"Following the meeting, the experts decided to form a wide list of proposals for two groups: business fonts for texts, as well as fonts for headlines — for decorative design of official documents," the ministry said.

It is noted that in the future, experts will choose two or three best headsets and offer them to government authorities.
