Cabinet extends project on production of ammunition for drones to manufacture of ammunition of all types – Shmyhal
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has extended a pilot project for the production of ammunition for drones to the manufacture of all types of ammunition, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
"The first document on the deregulation of ammunition production. Last summer, the government launched an experimental project for the production of ammunition for drones. To do this, we expanded the range of potential manufacturers, eliminated bureaucracy, and created clear algorithms – from development to commissioning," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Thursday.
According to him, more than 10 manufacturers have been registered in six months, more than 20 ammunition samples have been approved for operation, and another 30 are at different stages of testing.
"Now we are extending the pilot project to the manufacture of ammunition of all types and improving the procedure for registering manufacturers. New businesses can get involved quickly. Thus, we will strengthen our army as soon as possible," the head of government stressed.
