The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) in Rivne region is starting a mine safety program.
"In Rivne region, the implementation of the program Safe behavior/raising awareness of the risks of mines and explosive remnants of war begins... Instructors of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society will inform people about the danger of mines and talk about actions in case of detection of explosive ordnance," the URCS reported on Facebook.
The URCS said that over the week in Rivne, 19 volunteer instructors from different districts of the region were trained to conduct information sessions for the population.
Ukraine is currently one of the most heavily mined countries in the world. Every day people are injured by explosive objects, often fatal accidents.
