Zelenskyy hopes for productive Spanish presidency of EU in terms of negotiations on Ukraine's membership
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy hopes that negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU will begin during the presidency of Spain.
"I hope that the Spanish presidency of the Council of the European Union will be productive on the issue of starting negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU," he wrote on the Telegram channel on Monday following a telephone conversation with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
"I thanked the Spanish people and the government for the principled political and defense support of Ukraine. We discussed the continuation of our cooperation. We also discussed future international events and current security issues on the common European agenda," he wrote.
