Rescue work at site of explosion of Dramatic Theater in Mariupol by occupiers to continue despite shelling – Zelensky
Rescue work at the site of the explosion of the Drama Theater in Mariupol by the invaders will continue despite the shelling, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has said.
"More than 35,000 people have already been rescued from Mariupol. Rescue operations continue at the site of the explosion of the theater, in which Mariupol residents hid from shelling, used it as a shelter. As you know, more than 130 people were rescued. But hundreds more Mariupol residents are under the rubble. Despite shelling, despite all the difficulties, we will continue rescue work," Zelensky said in a video message on Friday.
As reported in the morning by Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova, 130 people were taken out of the bomb shelter in the basement of the Drama Theater in Mariupol, the fate of another 1,300 is unknown.
