Okhtyrka CHPP destroyed as result of air bombardment by Russian fighters - Sumy regional administration head
Okhtyrka combined heat and power plant (CHPP) was destroyed as a result of aerial bombardment by Russian fighters on Thursday, Head of Sumy Regional State Administration Dmytro Zhyvytsky said.
"From the first day of the war, Okhtyrka took upon itself a hard blow from the Russians. Today, during an air bombardment, Russian fighters destroyed Okhtyrka CHPP. The engine room was completely bombed. There is no heating, no electricity in the city," he said on Telegram.
"We are trying to resolve the issue of how to urgently take people out of the city, because in a day multi-apartment buildings will turn into a cold stone trap without water, light and electricity," the head of the regional state administration emphasized.
Zhyvytsky added that at the moment there are no "green corridors" for the evacuation of people in Sumy region.
