GTSOU: first line of Luhansk-Lysychansk-Rubizhne gas pipeline damaged, gas supplied to Lysychansk via reserve system
Due to hostilities waged by Russia the first line of the Luhansk-Lysychansk-Rubizhne gas pipeline has been damaged near the knot leading to the Lysychansk gas distribution station, the press service of Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine has reported.
The press service said that dispatchers of the company recorded a decline in pressure in the system and at 08:50 gas supply was cut off.
"There have been no casualties or injuries among GTSOU personnel. The operator will restart the gas pipeline as soon as possible, but active hostilities are under way in the area of the accident. Lysychansk receives gas through the reserve gas supply system", GTSOU said.
At 11:00 on Thursday, 14 of the 1,389 gas distribution stations were suspended, but Ukraine's gas transmission system continues to supply Ukrainian gas and critical infrastructure. All offices perform tasks. The personnel of the GTS operator operate in a high security mode.
