Zelensky: Ukraine cannot feel like guest in EU, NATO, we want to be insiders
Ukraine should join the European Union and receive a NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
"If the EU leaders say that the security situation in Europe depends on Ukraine, if we pay for it with victims, and more than 14,000 people have already died, then we must have some kind of status. Ukraine cannot feel itself in the EU and NATO as a guest. We want to be insiders. I believe that we deserved this long ago," Zelensky said in an interview with the French edition of Le Figaro, published by the presidential press service.
"I believe that we must be in the European Union, must receive the MAP. I always say that Ukraine must have such a status. This is fair. Then we will feel like subjects. Then the citizens of Ukraine will never feel alone. This is important," he added.
