Tens of thousands of Hasidic pilgrims have arrived in Ukraine for the celebration of the Jewish New Year 5779, the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service said on Sunday, September 9.
"In general, the staff of the State Border Guard Service has already handled almost 28,000 pilgrims at state border checkpoints," the report says.
The border service noted that several tens of thousands of pilgrims visit Uman in Cherkasy region every year to mark the Jewish New Year of Rosh Hashanah.
This year's holiday is marked from September 9 to September 11.
