Investigation of assault on MP Nayyem will be complete after receiving media report of his injuries – Lutsenko
The criminal case involving the assault on Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deputy Mustafa Nayyem (Petro Poroshenko Bloc) will be complete as soon as he provides investigators with the results of the medical examination of his injuries," Ukraine's Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has said.
As earlier reported, three men riding in Mercedes sedan beat up the people's deputy in downtown Kyiv as a result of a road conflict.
Kyiv's Shevchenkivsky District police department launched criminal proceedings under Part 2, Article 266 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for up to four years of imprisonment.
Police later additionally opened [a criminal case] under Article 122, Part 1 (intended bodily injury of medium gravity) of Ukraine's Criminal Code after ascertaining the seriousness of injuries sustained by Nayyem in the attack.
