Poroshenko planning to participate in presidential election – MP Berezenko
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will most likely take part in a presidential election in March 2019, and the political campaign staff started operating, the deputy head of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko (BPP) faction in parliament, Serhiy Berezenko, has said.
"The staff has started operating at this point. I do not want to disclose the details. I think that you will see actions yourself soon," he said in an interview with the Glavcom media outlet published on the BPP's website.
According to the politician, the head of the staff has not yet been determined, but the head of the election campaign is Ihor Hryniv.
"Petro Poroshenko is a presidential candidate in his staff, perhaps a little more than just a candidate, because final and basic decisions cannot be made without his participation," Berezenko said, when asked whether it is possible to say that Poroshenko himself will head the political campaign staff.
According to him, it is unlikely that Poroshenko will not participate in the election.
