Macron to discuss Ukraine topic, Minsk agreements at meeting with Putin in Moscow
French President Emmanuelle Macron said on Thursday that he intends on Sunday during a visit to the Russian Federation to talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the main contentious issues.
On Sunday, our talks will be aimed at raising these issues, he said at a press conference in Brussels.
Macron recalled that, in particular, he considers important the subject of Ukraine, the Minsk agreements and de-escalation in the Eastern European region.
He also recalled that he considers important the issue of disarmament, which, he expects, to touch upon with Putin and Donald Trump during a meeting in Helsinki.
Macron said that he is in favor of a dialogue with Russia. But we should not abandon our principles, he said.
Also, Macron stressed that he does not see the possibility of abandoning the Minsk accords.
