Sentsov getting IV injections after 3 weeks of hunger strike
Doctors are monitoring the condition of Ukrainian filmmaker Oleh Sentsov, who is on hunger strike in a Russian penitentiary, the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN)'s branch in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region told Interfax.
"The hunger strike is continuing. Doctors are monitoring his condition. There has been no change in his health so far, everything is stable," the press service said.
Sentsov is receiving intravenous injections, it said.
In August 2015, the North Caucasus District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Sentsov, who was detained in Crimea in 2014, to 20 years in a high-security penitentiary. He was accused of creating a terrorist group in Crimea.
Sentsov went on a hunger strike on May 14 and demanded that all Ukrainian citizens held in Russia be set free.
He is serving time in a high-security penitentiary known as the Polar Bear in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region.
