OSCE calls on Ukrainian authorities to investigate murder of journalist Babchenko
OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Harlem Desir has called on the Ukrainian authorities to conduct a full investigation into the murder of journalist Arkady Babchenko.
"Horrified by report that well-known Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko was shot and killed in his home in Kyiv. I call on Ukraine authorities to conduct immediate and full investigation. My thoughts are with journalist's family," Desir wrote on his page on Twitter on Wednesday.
As reported, a Russian citizen, ATR television channel host Arkady Babchenko, was shot dead near his home in the Dniprovsky district of Kyiv late on May 29.
A criminal case on charges of a premediated murder was opened.
Kyiv police chief Andriy Kryschenko said that professional activity is the first most likely reason behind the death of Babchenko.
The police also made a composite portrait of Babchenko's murderer.
