Russian militants mount 45 attacks on Ukraine army in Donbas in past day with 1 KIA, 2 WIA

Russian-led forces have mounted 45 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in the past day, with one Ukrainian serviceman reported as killed in action (KIA), another two as wounded in action (WIA), the press center for the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has reported.

"Russian-led forces mounted 45 attacks, using heavy weapons 17 times. At about 06:00 on May 15, again ignoring the norms of international humanitarian law, the invaders opened fire from 82mm mortars at the village of Novhorodske," the JFO press center said on Facebook on Wednesday morning.

Areas near the villages of Troyitske and Novozvanivka were hot spots in the Luhansk sector.

In the Donetsk sector, units of Ukraine's Joint Forces conducted active defensive operations near the villages of Travneve, Zaitseve, Zalizne, Verkhniotoretske, and Pisky.

"According to intelligence data, the enemy lost two fighters over the past day, while three others were wounded. It is reported the invaders received an adequate response near the villages of Talakivka and Shyrokyne in the Mariupol sector," the message reads.
