Israeli president supports creation of Babi Yar Holocaust Memorial Center in Kyiv
Israeli President Reuven Rivlin has expressed his support for the creation of the Babi Yar Holocaust Memorial Center in Kyiv, the center's press service has reported.
"It is very necessary. New generations, even the current generation, do not know exactly what was going on everywhere... It is important that everyone knows that the Holocaust is a milestone in our life and in our history, and Babi Yar is something to be remembered for, when we talk about all the things that we have experienced as a nation," the press service quoted him as saying after a meeting with a delegation of the Babi Yar Holocaust Memorial Center on February 8.
As reported, the Babi Yar Holocaust Memorial Center in Kyiv will be erected at the site of an abandoned sports complex on Dorohozhychi, near the place of mass shootings during the Second World War.
