Klitschko hands over symbolic Eurovision key to Lisbon mayor

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has handed over the symbolic Eurovision key to Lisbon Mayor Fernando Medina on the occasion of the song contest to be held in the Portuguese capital this spring, Kyiv City State Administration's press service has reported.

"We are handing over the contest key to Lisbon. Thanks to Salvador Sobral and his soulful jazz ballad last year Portugal won the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time. We are passing the baton to Lisbon! The countdown to the song contest, which will be held in the Portuguese capital this year, has kicked off," Klitschko said.

He said that due to such song contests as the Eurovision Song Contest, people learn about culture, character and preferences of people in many countries.
