Eleven illegal migrants from China worked at plant in Zaporizhia
Zaporizhia-based steel mill Roukr Refinery, which produces tin, zinc and lead, has been fined almost UAH 2 million for illegal employment of 11 Chinese citizens who arrived in Ukraine on tourist visas, the press service of the main office of the State Service for Labor in Zaporizhia region has reported.
It was established after an inspection that citizens of China, who arrived in Ukraine in March-June 2017, illegally worked in the enterprise's shop, without any labor contracts and in the absence of work permits for foreigners. The inspection also showed that the hired workers did not receive a salary on time.
The State Service for Labor fined the enterprise UAH 1.763 million for violations detected, including UAH 3,200 for violating the terms of payment of wages, UAH 704,000 for using foreign labor without permission, and UAH 1.56 million for admitting employees to work without registration of labor relations. The enterprise appealed against the fine at Zaporizhia District Administrative Court, but their claim was rejected.
