The European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) recommends Ukraine to extend the transition period to full-fledged application of the article on the language of instruction in the law "On Education," the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science reported referring to the Commission's conclusions dated December 8.
"One of the important recommendations of the Commission is to extend the transition period for the implementation of the article. At present, the law "On Education" indicates that the language article should fully enter into force in 2020," the press service of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine said in a statement posted on Friday afternoon.
