Some $14 billion is needed in the next nine years to restore the educational infrastructure destroyed and damaged by the war, Deputy Minister of Education Andriy Vitrenko reported.
"Every seventh educational institution in Ukraine is either destroyed or damaged... We are constantly conducting research thanks to our partners, and as of today, according to the World Bank, almost $14 billion is needed just to restore the lost infrastructure... These $14 billion should be realized as much as possible in the coming years," he said at the international conference United for Justice on Wednesday.
In addition, Vitrenko reported that because of the war, education seekers have suffered educational losses: according to formal indicators, the average lag is at the level of 1.5-2.5 years. According to him, among other things, children lose soft skills, including emotional intelligence, communication skills, empathy, involvement in the interlocutor, teamwork.
