Contact Group in Minsk could discuss Donbas truce at beginning of new school year, Kyiv says
The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Ukraine could discuss Donbas truce on the eve of September 1 at its meeting in Minsk on August 23, Olha Aivazovska, Ukraine's representative in the TCG political subgroup, said.
"The main issue, which concerns security, will most likely be truce on the eve of September 1, among others. And I am very hopeful that it will be supported in a way that no party could back away from it," Aivazovska said on Channel 5 on Friday.
To implement such a truce, the issue must be tackled not only on the TCG level, she said.
The August 23 meeting in Minsk will also focus on the upcoming Normandy Four summit, the Ukrainian representative said. "This is not organized directly in Minsk, but these processes are interrelated," Aivazovska said.
