Klimkin supports Pussy Riot demo in support of Sentsov in Yakutsk
Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin has supported the action by members of the Russian Pussy Riot group in support of jailed Ukrainian film maker Oleh Sentsov. Maria Alekhina and Olga Borisova took part in the action in Yakutsk, Russia, where Sentsov is in jail.
"A different Russia. I support Pussy Riot for the construction of a bridge of freedom in Yakutksk," Klimkin said on his Twitter microblog on Monday.
The minister illustrated his post with a photo from the site of the action, where a large banner reading, "Free Sentsov" was hung from a bridge.
As earlier reported, Alekhina and Borisova were arrested for holding the unsanctioned action.
A Russian court in August 25 convicted Sentsov of terrorism charges, sentencing him to a 20-year jail sentence.
