Leaders of Georgia, Ukraine agree to coordinate actions for integration into Euro-Atlantic structures
Presidents of Ukraine and Georgia, Petro Poroshenko and Giorgi Margvelashvili, have signed a declaration on strategic partnership between the two countries in Tbilisi on Tuesday.
"We signed a document reflecting the real spirit of the peoples of the two countries, and we agreed that we would be even more active in the integration of our countries into the European space. We talked about cooperation in the defense sphere, economic projects, the security of the Black Sea," Margvelashvili told journalists after the talks with the Ukrainian president.
In turn, Poroshenko said that Georgia and Ukraine "are strategic partners."
"We need to protect our sovereignty and territorial integrity, democracy. We have considered how to strengthen our strategic partnership, and we agreed to coordinate actions to integrate our countries into Euro-Atlantic structures," he said.
